"It's all about Jesus"

"Was it a verse of scripture in the message or perhaps a hymn which spoke to you"; the pastor enquired as he led me to the Lord in Killaughey Mission Hall. How does a 15 year old explain the workings of the Holy Spirit? I never heard a word he said that night because from the minute I entered the building the presence of the Holy Spirit came upon me, I was aware of nothing else! I then started to read God's word and it was so clear to me, that life was no longer about me - 'IT WAS ALL ABOUT JESUS' my part was to share this wonderful gift of salvation with everyone who would listen.

I became a Sunday School teacher, a leader in the Christian Endeavour and worked with a children's outreach team in Taughmona Estate. At 17 I started work at the Head Office of the Ulster Bank praying and witnessing to the rebellious teenager who sat at the desk beside me. When she got saved we started a prayer meeting and outreach work among the 200 other people in the building with us, we wanted to let them know, in this world 'IT's ALL ABOUT JESUS'.

By my mid twenties I was married and living a very different life in Zambia, my husband working as a buyer for the copper mines. We had servants to clean the swimming pool, tend the garden and do the housework. We had annual holidays in Kenya, Victoria Falls and The Seychelles, life was about money and materialism. It was no longer 'ALL ABOUT JESUS'. So there was no fruit for our labour during the 4 years we lived in Africa. The next decade brought necessary pruning from the Lord's hand, it was a time of severe loss. I miscarried 3 children and had 3 children. Kerry was born in Africa but at the birth of our second child here at home the doctor admitted Heather and I, both nearly died due to his mistake. Two years later my husband and I separated just 3 weeks before the birth of our third child, David. Three years later my father died and two years after this, still in my thirties, I buried my best friend - my mother. Through all these painful years God's precious word comforted me - Jeremiah Chapter 29 v11 "I know the plans I have for you...God has no problems only plans.

The following 10 years were a constant struggle bringing up 3 young children alone. I learned that God can use our hurts to help others and so we used our home, a small terraced house off the Cregagh Road for a Bible Study and Support group for people going through the trauma of separation and divorce. I watched the words of Jesus in Luke Ch 4 v18 come to life before my very eyes. His testimony is true, "He was sent to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives. I witnessed broken lives restored, lost souls saved. Those years in that little house were truly - "ALL ABOUT JESUS". And now my family have their own homes and in my current job we have started a little Bible study group and are rejoicing even more at the grace and mercy of our God as He touches the lives we are daily witnessing to and they also receive this wonderful gift of salvation and learn its not about them - IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS' and His finished work on Calvary.

The most unlikely men of all are the ones being saved, confirming to us the truth of Matthew Ch 19 v26 - "With God all things are possible! The Waterfront auditorium was packed - Pamela crossed the platform to introduce the world famous author she had invited to speak at the conference. She took the microphone in her hand, "let us pray" she said, I bowed my head, tears rolled down my cheeks as I listened to the voice of the once rebellious teenager who sat beside me in the Ulster Bank all those years ago. Together we both learned this truth - "IT'S ALL ABOUT JESUS".
